TCS New Membership Wine Tasting

Situation

Following the 2020-21 influx of new residents to Westport, The Community Synagogue (TCS) identified a vital need for deeper community integration among the newest members. In March 2022, as social engagement began to revitalize, the synagogue recognized the desire for a more enriching experience to connect the new residents with the community.

Solution

Serving as the Membership Chair on the Board of Directors, I drew on my marketing and brand-building expertise, to orchestrate a "revitalization through relationship" plan. From concept to execution, we presented an exclusive, intimate kosher wine-tasting event designed to forge immediate, meaningful relationships between new members, clergy, and lay leadership.

To extend the experience into their homes, each guest received a personalized curated TCS-branded welcome gift including a wine glass, kippah, shabbat candles, and the TCS magazine, ‘Mosaic’. 

This initiative evolved into a blueprint for a new institutional tradition for welcoming new members. To this day, TCS continues to utilize this personalized onboarding model, which has enhanced the member experience and fostered long-term community loyalty.
